Problems with Time and Date Settings
The adm inist rat or is able t o select an NTP Ser v er t o keep Thecus I P st orage t im e
synchr onized. How ev er , if Thecus I P st orage cannot access t he I nt ernet , y ou m ay
encount er a pr oblem when set t ing t he Tim e and Tim e Zone. I f t his happens:
1. Login t o t he Web Adm inist rat ion I nt erface.
2. Navigat e t o Syst e m M a n a g e m e nt > Tim e .
3. Under N TP Se r v e r , select N o.
4. Set t he D a t e , Tim e , and Tim e Zone .
5. Click Apply.
I n addit ion, if t he Thecus I P st orage is able t o access t he I nt ernet and y ou want t o
keep t he NTP Ser ver clock.isc.org by default , please m ak e sur e t he DNS Serv er is
corr ect ly ent er ed, t her eby allowing t he NTP Ser ver nam e t o corr ect ly r esolve. ( See

Dual DOM Supports for Dual Protection (N12000
series/N16000 series/N8900 series only)
The m ost advance and useful feat ur e on t he Thecus I P st orage ( depend on m odels)
is t he im plem ent ed Dual DOM. Under norm al circum st ances, t her e is no need t o
have t his feat ur e involved. But som e unpr edict able problem s like power cut or
hum an err or can occur by accident , especially during syst em boot ing st age; t he
Dual Dom will becom e t he best feat ur e t o pr ev ent syst em down t im e.
Pract ically while it happened, sy st em will t ry t o recov er t he DOM 1 from DOM 2 first .
I f it is unachievable t hen t he sy st em can boot from DOM 2. And all of t hese
procedur es can be oper at ed t hrough t he OLED.
N OTE
The DOM1 in Dual DOM is by default t he m ast er DOM and FW updat es w ill
only apply t o DOM1. DOM2 is 'Read only" .
I f anyt hing happened and t he DOM1 is recovered fr om DOM2, t he FW
version w ill be t he one of t he DOM2. Therefore, it m ay need t o be
upgraded t o t he version of DOM1.
I f DOM1 can not be recovered from DOM2, t he syst em w ill boot up from
DOM2. The or iginal configurat ion of DOM1 m ay need t o be set up again
w it h DOM2 operat ions.
