DDNS

To set up a ser ver on t he I nt ernet and enable t he users t o connect t o it easily, a
fixed and easy- t o r em em ber host nam e is oft en required. How ev er, if t he I SP
provides only dynam ic I P addr ess, t he I P address of t he ser ver will change fr om
t im e t o t im e and is difficult t o recall. You can enable t he DDNS ser vice t o solve t he
problem .
Aft er enabling t he DDNS service of t he NAS, w henev er t he NAS r est art s or t he I P
address is changed, t he NAS will not ify t he DDNS provider im m ediat ely t o r ecord
t he new I P addr ess. When t he user t ries t o connect t o t he NAS by t he host nam e,
t he DDNS will t ransfer t he r ecorded I P addr ess t o t he user.
The NAS support s t he DDNS provider s:
DyDNS.org( Dynam ic DNS) ,DyDNS.org( Cust om DNS) ,DyDNS.org( St at ic DNS) ,
www.zoneedit .com ,ww w.no- ip.com

Enable or disable SSH service.
The port num ber is default 22.
Enable or disable SFTP prot ocol under SSH service.
Click " Apply" t o confirm t he changes.
