Part I - Setup a DynDNS Account

1. Go t o http://www.dyndns.org fr om y our hom e PC.
2. Click on t he Sign Up N ow link.
3. Check t he Check box es, select a user nam e ( i.e.: N12000) , ent er your em ail
address ( i.e.: xxx @exam ple.com ) , check En a ble W ildca r d, and creat e a
passw ord ( i.e.: xxx x) .
4. Wait for an em ail from www.dyndns.org.
5. Open t he em ail and click on t he link t o act ivat e your account

Part II - Enable DDNS on the Router

1. Go t o t he r out er set up scr een and select I P Config > M isce lla n e ou s
D D N S Se t t in g fr om your Hom e PC.
2. Click on Ye s for En a ble t he D D N S Clie n t ?
3. Select www.dyndns.org.
4. Go t o rout er set up screen, and ent er t he following inform at ion:
a. User Nam e or E- m ail Address: x x x @e x a m ple .com
b. Passw ord or DDNS Key: x x x x
c. Host Nam e: www.N12000.dyndns.org
d. Enable wildcard? Select Ye s
e. Updat e Manually: Click Upd a t e

Part III - Setting up Virtual Servers (HTTPS)

1. Navigat e t o N AT Se t t in g > Vir t u a l Se r ve r .
2. For Ena ble Vir t ua l Se r ve r ?, select Ye s
3. Set up t he HTTPS Serv er
a. W e ll- Know n Applica t ions: Select Use r D e fin e d
b. Loca l I P: Ent er 192.168.1.100
c. Por t Ra n ge : 443 ( t he default HTTPS port set t ing on t he Thecus I P
st orage)
d. Pr ot ocol: select TCP
e. Click Add .
f. Click Apply.
4. Test t he HTTPS connect ion fr om anot her com put er on t he I nt ernet
a. From a r em ot e com put er, open your br ow ser and ent er
https://www.N12000.dyndns.org
b. You should see t he login page of Thecus I P st orage.

Firewall Software Configuration

I f y ou ar e using a soft w are firewall ( i.e. Nort on I nt ernet Securit y) and are having
t rouble connect ing t o Thecus I P st orage, you can t ry t he following st eps:
1. Double click t he N I S icon on syst em t ray, and t hen configure t he Pe r son a l
Fir e w a ll.
2. On t he Pr og r a m s page, find t he Se t u pW iz a r d.e x e and change it s
perm ission t o " Perm it All" . I f it 's not in t he program list , use t he Add or
Pr ogr a m Sca n but t ons t o find it .
3. On t he N e t w or k in g page, m anually add Thecus I P st orage I P address ( i.e.
192.168.1.100) t o t he Tr ust e d list .
