Warning and indicator lamps in the instrument cluster

WARNING
Always have service work carried out at a specialist workshop which is qualified for smart
electric drive vehicles. This specialist workshop has the necessary specialist knowledge
and tools to carry out the work required. smart recommends a smart Centre for this purpose.
In particular, work relevant to safety or on safety-related systems must be carried out at a
qualified specialist workshop. There is a risk of accident and injury if this work is carried
out incorrectly.
Problem
! The yellow abs
warning lamp
lights up when
the ignition is
switched on.

tion is

while the hand-

applied.
Possible causes/consequences and M Solutions
The system runs a self-diagnosis check.
The warning lamp goes out after a maximum of ten seconds.

Risk of accident
abs has been deactivated due to a malfunction. This also causes

to deactivate. The brake system continues to function
normally, but without electronic support. The wheels could
therefore lock if you brake hard, for example.

Do not drive on.

Park the vehicle safely as soon as possible.

When you leave the vehicle, secure it against rolling away by
applying the parking brake.

Call a breakdown service, e.g. smartmove Assistance or a
specialist workshop that is qualified for smart electric
drive vehicles, e.g. a smart Centre.
The warning lamp goes out after ten seconds.
The parking brake is applied.

Release the parking brake.
