    The following safety warnings must be observed at all times: • Due to the complexity of this system, installation of this product must only be performed by an authorized Directed dealer. • When properly installed, this system can start the vehicle via a command signal from the remote control. Therefore, never operate the system in an area that does not have adequate ventilation.

    If the vehicle is equipped with an Add-On Lexus/Toyota OEM remote starter: The factory remote starter must be Š permanently disconnected before programming the Directed interface as both modules cannot coexist. See locating the OEM Remote Start on page 5.

    To enable D2D communication between the DS4+ and the SmartStart one of the following actions must be executed: SmartStart with Loops – The brown loop must be cut. • SmartStart with Pigtails – The gray wire must be connected to a ground source. • DS4+ TL6 © 2017-10-03 Directed.     Important! After successfully learning Virtual Tach, a small minority of vehicle starters may over crank or under crank during remote start.
