    The following safety warnings must be observed at all times: • Due to the complexity of this system, installation of this product must only be performed by an authorized Directed dealer. • When properly installed, this system can start the vehicle via a command signal from the remote control. Therefore, never operate the system in an area that does not have adequate ventilation.

    If the vehicle is equipped with an Add-On Lexus/Toyota OEM remote starter: The factory remote starter must be Š permanently disconnected before programming the Directed interface as both modules cannot coexist. See locating the OEM Remote Start on page 5.

    To enable D2D communication between the DS4+ and the SmartStart one of the following actions must be executed: SmartStart with Loops – The brown loop must be cut. • SmartStart with Pigtails – The gray wire must be connected to a ground source. • DS4+ TL6 © 2017-10-03 Directed.     SmartStart. To ensure proper functionality with SmartStart, it is important that it is selected in the system programming of the DirectLink application or via the online web tool.     Important! After successfully learning Virtual Tach, a small minority of vehicle starters may over crank or under crank during remote start.
