These results provide more information about the ADSL link.
If you are using an Infineon SIM, the results for Num Syncs,
Training Time, and Connect Mthd (as defined in the Perfor-
mance Results) are on the Signal screen.

Chapter 3 Interpreting Test Results
Description
The connection method. ADSL can transport
data using either a "fast" or an "interleaved"
connection method. The interleaved method
provides more protection from errors and is
more reliable, but also introduces some
delay (latency). Most operators deliver resi-
dential ADSL using the "fast" method which
does not protect data quite as well. This
method is set by the DSLAM
The number of seconds it took the HST-3000
to synchronize with the DSLAM.
The number of synchronization attempts. it is
possible that modems do not synchronize
immediately and make multiple attempts
before achieving synchronization.
Description
The dB value ratio of signal strength to
noise for upstream and downstream.
This result represents how many more
dB of noise or reduction of transmit sig-
nal the connection can tolerate and still
maintain a bet error rate of 10
A dB value representing the improve-
ment in signal transmission due to trellis/
RS coding.
