Appendix B - Units of Measurement

Latitude and longitude are specified in signed decimal degrees and conversion to NMEA (degrees & decimal
minutes), degrees, minutes & seconds, or radians is quite simple. North & East are positive angles and South
& West negative angles. Speed is reported in knots. Course is the true course over ground.
