10. TROUBLESHOOTING
•
If there is a problem with operation, first check that the threads are correctly threaded and that the needle is correctly
installed.
•
Please check the following points before calling for repairs or service.
•
If the following remedies do not fix the problem, turn off the power switch and consult a qualified technician or the place of
purchase.
Turn off the power switch and disconnect the power cord before carrying out troubleshooting.
Otherwise the machine may operate if the start switch is pressed by mistake, which could result in serious injury.
Problem
Thread breaks
Skipped stitches occur.

Cause
Thread tension is too strong.
Needle is not installed correctly.
Thread is too thick for the needle.
Needle and looper adjustment is
incorrect.
Needle, looper, spreader, throat plate or
thread path is damaged.
Thread is not threaded correctly.
Upper thread tension is too strong or too
weak.
Needle point is broken or bent.
Clearance between needle and looper
tip is incorrect.
Needle, looper and spreader adjustment
is incorrect.
Needle and needle guard adjustment is
incorrect.
Eye looper tip is blunt.
Needle is not installed correctly.
Needle is too thin.
CAUTION
Adjust the thread tension to the correct
tension.
Install the needle so that it faces
correctly.
Select a thread which is suitable for the
needle.
Adjust the clearance between the
needle and looper, the needle bar height
or the looper and spreader height.
Repair or replace the respective part(s).
Thread the thread correctly.
Adjust the upper thread tension to the
correct tension.
Replace with a new needle.
Adjust the clearance between the
needle and looper tip.
Adjust correctly.
Adjust the needle guard.
Repair with an oilstone or replace the
looper with a new one.
Install the needle so that it faces
correctly.
Select a needle that is suitable for the
sewing conditions.
