Components (Rear)

This section describes the controllers and the power supply units in the rear of the controller enclosure.
Controller
The controller contains a CPU, cache memory, host interfaces, Bootup and Utility Device (BUD), and drive in-
terface (DI) ports. The controller controls all operations in the ETERNUS DX.

shows the controller of the ETERNUS DX500 S3.

Host interface (CA#0)
Install host interfaces.

Host interface (CA#1)
Install host interfaces.

LAN (FST) port
A port that is dedicated for maintenance engineers. Customers must not use this port.
4.
LAN (RMT) port
These are the RJ-45 connectors to connect LAN cables.
5.
LAN (MNT) port
These are the RJ-45 connectors to connect LAN cables.
6.
DI (OUT) port
This port is used to connect a controller enclosure to a drive enclosure with a cable between enclosures.
7.
PWC port
This port is used to connect a power synchronized unit with an RS232C cable.
