Oxygen Monitoring
5-10-12
Problem
Pressing O2 CAL
key initiates
calibration, but
display window
remains blank at
end of calibration
period.
During monitoring,
O SENS DISC, O
2 2
ALRM OFF & O
2
NOT CAL
messages appear
on central alarm
display.
Possible Cause
Sensor is exposed
to incorrect oxygen
concentration.
Sensor is exposed
to constantly
changing
calibration mixture
Sensor capsule had
been removed from
housing for a
prolonged period of
time.
New capsule was
not given proper
waiting period.
Sensor capsule is
exhausted or
defective.
Sensor housing
and cable are
defective.
Sensor cord is
disconnected.
Remedy
Expose sensor to room
air for 21%
calibration.
Allow for waiting
period equal to
duration of capsule
removal.
Allow for 15 minute
waiting period.
Replace sensor
capsule. Allow for 15
minute waiting period.
Replace housing/cable
assembly.
Reconnect sensor cord
to input receptacle on
anesthesia machine.
