Test Description
The server is powered on, and the hard disks are detected.
1.
Press Ctrl+H in the POST phase. The window for configuring the LSI SAS2208
is displayed.
2.
Select four hard disks, divide them into two groups, and configure RAID 1
properties for both groups. For details, see case T05-02. For the second group,
select Add Configuration for MegaRAID BIOS Config Utility Configuration.
3.
Click Home. Click a hard disk in Unconfigured Drives on the right. In the
window for configuring the hard disk, select Make Global HSP and click Go to
set the hard disk to a global hot spare disk.
4.
Remove one RAID 1 member disk. Check whether the global hot spare disk
takes the removed disk's place and its state becomes Rebuild.
The global hot spare disk takes the removed disk's place and its state changes from
HotSpare to Rebuild.
To verify that you can set a dedicated hot spare disk by using the LSI SAS2208

Click Home. Click a hard disk in Unconfigured Drives on the right. In the
window for configuring the hard disk, select Drive Group1 and Make Global
HSP and click Go to set the hard disk to a dedicated hot spare disk for Drive
Group1.
5.
Remove one member disk for Drive Group0 and Drive Group1. Check
whether the two dedicated hot spare disks take the removed disks' place and
their states become Rebuild.
The dedicated hot spare disk takes the removed disk's place and its state changes
from HotSpare to Rebuild.
