Preliminary remarks
Attention must be paid to the version / design of the compressor wheel
"CV" for locking the rotor. The version / design is engraved in the com-
pressor wheel near the holes for the balancing screws.
Various intermediate rings are provided with the locking device for differ-
ent compressor wheels.
Lubricating oil supply
If overheated, components of the turbocharger can be damaged.
If gas inlet cannot be closed off, connect and switch on lubricating oil
supply without fail during engine operation with locked turbocharger.

Shut off oil supply in event of lubricating oil leaking from turbo-
charger.
Checking for unbalance
Serious damage to machines and property can result from excessive
vibration and unbalance values that are too high.
Remove a locked rotor after repairing a turbocharger and check it for
unbalance.
Unscrewed balancing screws must not be screwed in again.
An exception is a test rig run up to maximum 25% engine load on new
engines with one or several turbochargers. As, in these cases, operation
with a locked rotor is only brief and the loads are low, subsequent removal
of the rotor is not necessary (if no balancing screws have been unscrewed).
