3.12 POINT EDITING
"Point" editing is used to edit individual points in a
waveform. To edit individual points, press the Edit menu
key repeatedly until "CSR INCRXADJYPT" appears on
the bottom line of the display. Press the CSR soft key(F1)
and use the Control knob to move the cursor to the first
point to be edited. Press the ADJYPT soft key (F3) and
use the Control knob to adjust the "Y" value of the point.
Pressing the INCRX soft key(F3)wiII increment the "X"
value by 1, pressing ADJYPTa second time will re-enable
adjustment of this next point. In this way successive
points of the waveform can be edited by repeatedly
pressing the INCRX, then ADJYPT soft keys and rotating
the Control knob.
Example Setup
The following procedure produces a simulated medical
"EKG" waveform.
1. Connect the equipment (Model 75 and the
oscilloscope) as shown in the diagram.
Z-AXIS
a. "ARBOut (504)" through a 504feedthrough ter-
mination to the vertical input of an oscilloscope.
b. "Sync Out (TTL)" to the external trigger input
of the oscilloscope.
c. "Z-Axis Out (600R)" to the Z-axis input of the
oscilloscope. Use procedure in paragraph 3.5
to set the Z-axis intensity.
Set the Model 75 and oscilloscope controls as
follows:

Setup: Press 3 times
VERT INPUT: 2 VlDlV
F2 (RSET): Press once VERT COUPLIIVG: DC
F3 (EXEC): Press once
Edit: Press two times HORlZ SWEEP:
F2 (ERASE): Press once .2 mslDIV.
F3 (EXEC): Press once TRIG MODE: AUTO
TRlG COUPI-ING: AC
TRlG SOURCE: EXTI1 0
TRIG SLOPEILEVEL: As Required
INTENSITY: As Required

3. The oscilloscope will now display a dc waveform of
O V with a left and right thumbtack and a cursor in
the center as shown below.

Some oscilloscope controls(depending on the make
and model of oscilloscope used) may need to be
adjusted slightly from the positions given in step 2.
a. Adjust the oscilloscope horizontal trace (posi-
tion control) to place the left thumbtack (inten-
sity marker)at the left-hand edge vertical mark.
b. Adjust the oscilloscope horizontal "VAR" con-
trol to place the right thumbtackat the right-hand
edge vertical mark. One complete waveform
cycle will then equal 10 divisions on the
oscilloscope screen.
