storage is only available for waveform lengths of
2048 points or less (see CHAI N below). Any of these
can be invoked by pressing the soft key [Fl (21), F2
(1 9), or F3(17)] below the corresponding label on the
display.
NOTE
Refer to appendix
B
for a summary of the soft
key options.
Pressing the Store key the first time enables the store
and recall functions as follows:
The label for the F1 soft key will read "STORE".
Pressing the F1 key, selecting one of the three
locations with the control knob, then pressing
EXEC key (see F3 below), will copy the current
waveform and settings into the selected location.
The previous contents of the selected location will
be lost.
The label for the F2 soft key will read "RCALL"
(Recall). Pressing the F2 key, selecting oneof the
three locations with the control knob, then press-
ing EXEC key (see F3 below), will copy the
selected waveform and setting into the active
instrument setup. The previous setup and wave-
form will be lost.
The label for the F3 soft key will read "EXEC"
(Execute). Pressing F3 causes the action selected
by the STORE or RCALL keys to be executed. An
"X" will be displayed in the top right hand corner
of the display after EXEC has been pressed.
Pressing the STORE key a second time will enable
the exchange function and the chain option as
follows:
The label for the F1 soft key will read "EXCHG"
(Exchange). Pressing the F1 key, selecting one
of the three locations with the control knob, then
pressing EXEC key(see F3 below), will exchange
the current waveform and settings with the
selected location. In this way, neither waveforms
nor settings are lost.
The label for the F2 soft key will read "CHAIN".
The Chain function allows chaining the active
waveform memory with the three waveform
storage areas to produce waveforms longer than
2048 points. Pressing the F2 key, selecting "8K"
with the control knob, then pressing EXEC key will
chain the waveforms together. Pressing the F2
key, selecting "2K" with the control knob, then
pressing "EXEC" keywill unchain thewaveforms
and reenable waveform and setting storage.
The label for the F3 soft key will read "EXEC"
(Execute). Pressing F3 causes the action selected
by the EXCHG or CHAIN to be executed. An "X"
will be displayed in the top right hand corner of
the display after EXEC has been pressed.
Pressing the Store key additional times will con-
tinuously cycle through the above options.

Setup Key. Each time the Setup key is pressed the
lower Iineof thedisplaywill change to indicate three
different instrument setupoptions. There are a total
of four different sets of three parameter setting
options if no communications option (RS-2326 or
IEEE-488) is installed or five sets if a communica-
tion option is installed. Any of these can be invoked
by pressing the soft key [Fl (21), F2 (1 9), or F3 (1 7)]
below the corresponding label on the display.
NOTE
.
Refer to appendix
B
for a summary of the soft
key options.
Pressing the Setup key the first time enables the
sync pulse and ramp rate controls as follows:
The label for the F1 soft key will read "SYNC".
Pressing F1 allows the position of the pulse from
the Sync Out connector (1 3) to by set to anywhere
in the active waveform by rotating the control
knob. The top line of the display will indicate this
position by the waveform address and in degrees
relative to the beginning of the waveform.
The label for the F2 soft key will read "PHASE".
Pressing F2allows the adjustment of the relative
phase of different model 75s running in parallel
by rotating the control knob. The top line of the
display indicates the phase in degrees relative to
the beginning of the waveform. This actually is
moving the sync pulse just as in SYNC above,
except that there isa two point offset in thedegree
reading on the display.
The label for the F3 soft key will read "RAMP"
(Ramp to Start Rate). This is the rate at which the
output ramps back to the start value when the
"Return" feature is used. Pressing F3 allows this
rate to be set by rotating the control knob.
Pressing the Setup key a second time enables the
break point setting features as follows:
The label for the F1 soft key will read "CSR" (Cur-
sor). Pressing F1 allows the cursor in the
waveform to be moved by rotating the control
knob. The top line of the display will indicate the
X-position of the cursor and whether a break point
is ''on'' or "off" at that position. If Z-axis modula-
tion is used on an oscilloscope, the cursor will be
intensified. This does not affect the output
waveform.
