A section of 4-20mA Program menu below shows the BioTector configuration in Full Multiplex Mode, which
corresponds to the example output signals given in figure A3.4 above. As can be seen, the reaction Result
channels are programmed to output TIC, TOC and TN components as follows.

Unlike Stream Multiplex Mode, all CHANNEL X parameters are predefined in Full Multiplex Mode and can not
be changed by the user. The first physical output channel, CHANNEL 1, is always set to STREAM ID
function. The second channel, CHANNEL 2, is always set to RESULT TYPE function. Finally, the CHANNEL
3 & 4 are programmed to output instantaneous and average reaction result values respectively.
In the example shown in figure A3.4 above, the OUTPUT 1 parameter instructs the system to output
instantaneous TOC result, taken from Stream 1 valve, with 0-1000mgC/l scale. The CHANNEL 3 parameter
tells the system, that it is the physical 4-20mA output channel 3, which should be used to output that result.
Therefore, similar to the Stream Multiplex Mode operation, the Full Multiplex Mode also uses a scheme of
mapping OUTPUT X parameters to physical 4-20mA output channels, described by CHANNEL X parameters.
The Full Multiplex Mode also suffers from the same drawback as Stream Multiplex Mode. For instance, the
reaction results are not available on the 4-20mA outputs constantly as they change periodically and hence the
requirement of a signal processing device on the user side to be synchronized with the BioTector to capture
the actual data.
Since there are two multiplexed channels (Stream ID and Result Type) in the Full Multiplex Mode, it takes
longer to output all measured results over the least number of output 4-20mA channels.
