If the 4-20mA READ synchronization option is used, then this output has to be assigned to a valve relay in
Output Devices menu as follows:

Irrespective to the used synchronization mechanism, if the Stream ID channel is unstable or set to CHANGE
level or 4-20mA READ signal is deactivated, the values of reaction Result Type, instantaneous and average
reaction result channels will not be defined and usually will be set to the latest output value.
An example of connection between the user device and the BioTector configured in Full Multiplex Mode, is
shown in figure A3.5, where the 4-20mA READ signal is used for synchronization.

If the Direct Mode was being used in the example above, the system would require 9 dedicated output
channels (3 analysis results multiplied by 3 streams). If the Stream Multiplex Mode was being used, 4 output
channels (1 Stream ID channel plus 3 analysis Result channels) would be needed. In case of Full Multiplex
Mode, if average result is not required, only 3 output channels (Stream ID, Result Type and Result Value) are
needed.
The 4-20mA Program menu in Full Multiplex Mode is similar the one in Stream Multiplex Mode. This means
that the output 4-20mA channels definition is split between CHANNEL X and OUTPUT X menu parameters,
as in the Stream Multiplex Mode. The menu CHANNEL X parameters describe the function of physical 4-
20mA output channels and menu OUTPUT X parameters determine what will be outputted on the physical
channels.
