Installation precautions

Follow all precautions when installing a device.

General precautions

DANGER
All fiber-optic interfaces use Class 1 lasers.
CAUTION
Do not install the device in an environment where the operating ambient temperature might exceed 40°C (104°F).
CAUTION
Never leave tools inside the chassis.

Lifting precautions

DANGER
Make sure the rack housing the device is adequately secured to prevent it from becoming unstable or falling over.
DANGER
Mount the devices you install in a rack as low as possible. Place the heaviest device at the bottom and progressively place
lighter devices above.

Task
Ensure that the physical environment that will
host the device has the proper cabling and
ventilation.
Unpack the device and all included accessories.
Install the device on a desktop, or in an
equipment rack.
Once the device is installed, plug the device into
a nearby power source that adheres to the
regulatory requirements outlined in this manual.
