Print Options
Print options give you access to the special features of your printer and the
RIP Station. You can specify print options in several places—from the server, from the
printing application, from the Fiery Downloader, from the Fiery Spooler, and from the
WebSpooler. The table in this appendix briefly describes each print option, gives its
default setting, and provides information on any constraints or requirements in effect.

Where to set print options

• Some settings are specified during Setup by the administrator. For information
about the current settings on the RIP Station, print the Configuration page from the
Functions menu. The Configuration page lists all current settings.
To change settings on the Control Panel, restart the RIP Station and choose Run
Setup. For detailed instructions, see the Administrator Guide.
• From applications
With the Adobe PostScript 3 printer drivers (included in your user software) and the
Windows NT 4.0 printer driver, you can specify and override job settings when you
print a job. See Chapter 3, "Printing with Mac OS Computers" and Chapter 2,
"Printing with Windows Computers" for information about specifying job settings
from applications.
For Windows computers, there are several methods for accessing the printer
properties. Chapter 2, "Printing with Windows Computers" describes how to set the
printer driver properties. The options described in this appendix are the same,
regardless of how you access the printer driver properties.
• From the Fiery Downloader
Only a few settings—Copies, and Brightness—can be specified when printing jobs
with the Fiery Downloader. To set these options, select the job in the "Files to be
Downloaded" list and click Options. For information, see "Using the Fiery
Downloader" on page 4-1.
• Overrides from the Fiery Spooler or WebSpooler
To change job settings from the Fiery Spooler or WebSpooler, double-click a job to
display the Override Print Settings dialog box. For more information, see "Changing
print settings for a job" on page 5-9.
