The chain brake can be operated in the following modes:
- Manual
just apply hand pressure on the front hand guard to operate
the brake.
Do not tamper with the braking system, this would affect
braking efficiency and a result, operator's safety.
The chain brake is subject to wear. This makes it necessary
to submit it to permanent maintenance and servicing by skilled
personnel (ACTIVEservice centers).
STARTER SYSTEM
Cable - replacement (fig. 30)
- Remove the four guard fastening screws on fan side.
- Using a srewdriver remove the clip (1) the washer (3) and
the pawl (4); then remove the drum (2).
- Insert the new cable (5), diam. 3,5x960 mm, fasten it to the
drum (2) with an ordinary knot, lead it through the guard (9)
and the handle (6) and make a knot of the type shown in the
picture.
- Reassemble by leading the cable in the pulley race and
making it turn clockwise by 7 turns. By slowly releasing the
cable, this will be fully wound on the pulley under the effect of
the spring which has just been tensioned.
If the spring has been properly tensioned, the handle will be
well stretched.
If it is not, tension the spring harder by letting the pulley com-
plete another turn. When the cable is fully wound, the pulley
must continue to turn for another half turn. If this does not
happen, lock the drum and unwind the cable by one turn.
Spring - replacement (fig. 30)
After having removed the drum, remove the spring guard (7),
and take the spring (8) out of its seat (9).
Change the spring after having greased it and by putting back
in place the spring guard and the pulley following the above
instructions.
IGNITION SYSTEM (fig. 31)
The digital ignition system includes
1 - Magneto flywheel / 2 - Coil / 3 - Spark plug
28
The coil is located outside the flywhel and is fastened at a
distance of 0.3 mm from the flywheel (distance measured
from the magnets).
The distance between the plug electrodes must be 0.5 mm.
To guarantee smooth operation, the spark plug should be
cleaned and checked at least once every week.
Two-stroke engine spark plugs have a reletively short service
life: they should therefore be changed once every month.
Use ACTIVE quality spark plug type: AX80.
INFORMATION
Proceed as follows to check ignition without removing the
flywheel: remove the spark plug and make sure that there
is good contact between the disassembled plug and the
engine body.
CLUTCH - INSTALLATION (fig. 32)
The clutch center (1) will screw directly on the driving shaft (2)
with the left hended thread, once the piston has been locked.
30
DRIVING PINION (fig. 33)
The driving pinion needs no special maintenance; however,
regularly check for wear signs, as wear will cause bad chain
driving resulting in decreased service liffe.
INFORMATION
The pinion should be changed every two new chains.
Use gloves and make sure that the button is in its STOP
position.
The chain should slide smoothly on the bar. Never use a new
chain on a worn sprocket or vice versa.
