WINTERTIME WORK (fig. 26)

1 - Revolving cover
* Suction air preheating
In the event of temperatures lower than +10°C, cold air may
be mixed with hot air coming fromthe cylinder area to optimize
carburettor operation.
- By removing the upper cover and filter, access is obtained to
the revolving cover (1):
unscrew the screw and turn the cover so that the opening is
free, then tighten the screw.
CARBURATOR - ADJUSTMENT (fig. 27)
Legend
1 - Max fuel adjustment screw
2 - Min fuel adjustment screw
3 - Slow running adjustment screw
The carburettor is factory-preset.
Do not overtighten screws (1) and (2) which might cause
carburettor damage.
Adjust screw (1) so that the engine can quickly respond to
sudden accelerations but works normally at its peak r.p.m.
(Warning. max. allowed R.P.M. 13200)
Adjust screws (2) so that the engine can quickly respond to
the accelerator.
Screw (1) must be at least 1+1/8 of a turn from end position
and screw (2) must at least 1+1/4 of a turn from position.
The setting may vary with altitude.
INFORMATION
Too lean an adjustment might cause engine seizure.
MAXIMUM R.P.M. allowed 13200.
Before adjusting the carburettor, make sure that the air filter
is perfectly clean or the setting may be faulty.
WARNING
Never touch the cylinder end the exhaust pipe (they
are hot).
By removing the cover (2), access can be obtained to the
AIRFILTER (fig. 28).
Move the switch (6) to the position (0) stop (in order to
remove the air filter.
- unscrew the screw (1) and remove the cover (2)
- unscrew the two screws (3) and remove the filter (4).
; this is made up of two parts and contains a shutter valve.
Thoroughly wash it with gasoline or petroleum at least once

every day.
A clogged filter will affect chain saw operation and increase
fuel consumption.
FUEL FILTER (5)
To empty the fuel tank
Pull out the filter (5) with a hook wire or long forleps.
Replace the fuel filter at least once a year.

INFORMATION
The chain brake should only be locked if the engine is
running at slow speed, unless there are severe
emergiencies.
