water resistant EP chassis grease
which
meets
General Motors
Specification
#GM 6031M,
into
the screw
hole
as required.

Replace
cover attaching screw.
NOTE: Lubricate
intermediate steerin!l
shoft
with water resistant
EP
chassis grease
which
meets General
Motors
Specification #GM
6031M every 6,000 miles on P-10 models
only.
POWER STEERING
On models equipped with power steering check
steering gear
lubricant
in
the following
manner.
Check fluid
in
power steering pump reservoir
-
while hot and wheels
in
full
left
turn
position-
make additions using G .M. Power Steering Fluid
or if not available
use
"DEXRON"@
Automatic
Transmission Fluid required to bring
level to
full
mark on cap dipstick.
Power steering provides
ease
in handling, park-
ing,
and getting
into
or out of
tight places. Power
assist is provided by a hydraulic pump driven by
the
engine. When the engine
is not
running or
if the
power
steering pump
drive
belt
breaks,
there is
no
power assist and much greater
steer-
ing effort
is
required.

Maintain
correct front end alignment
to pro-

easy steering,
longer tire life,
and
driving
stability.
Independent
Front Suspension
Check control arm
bushings and ball joints for
wear.
Lubricate tie rods, upper and lower
control
arms, and ball
joints
at
fittings with
water
resistant
EP chassis grease which
meets
General
Motors
Specification
#GM6031M every 6,000
miles.
NOTE: Ball
joints must be at
+
10°F. or more
before lubricating.
