windshield during initial operation under cer-
tain atmospheric conditions. Also, clear the
windshield, rear window, outside mirrors and
all side windows of ice or snow prior to
operation of the vehicle. This will improve
driver's vision during initial operation.
Operate system for 30 seconds before switch-
ing to Defroster. This will remove humid air
from the system and minimize rapid fogging
of the glass which can occur if humid air is
blown onto a cool windshield.
The heater receives air from the inlet in front
of the windshield. Always be sure the inlet is

clear of snow or other restrictions.
Keep all windows and vents closed to reduce
drafts and noise.
Operate fan on low or medium speeds for normal
operation and high speed for quick warm-up.
All defroster controls have a detent position at
which a portion of the air is diverted through
the defroster ducts. A resistance is felt at the
detent position when the control is moved from
the closed position.
Additional ventilation may be obtained by op-
erating the fan as desired.
CAUTION: Do not use the Cruise-Master when conditions do not warrant maintaining a constant speed,
such as in heavy traffic, or on winding or slippery roads.
The optional Cruise-Master provides fully auto-
matic speed control for your comfort when travel-
ing on turnpikes, expressways, or other non-
congested highways. The system automatically
disengages whenever the brake pedal is depressed.
To engage the control, accelerate to the desired
cruising speed, push and release the engagement
button at the end of the turn signal lever, and re-
lease accelerator pedal pressure. The desired
speed will be automatically maintained.
When a lower cruising speed is desired, press

the engagement button until the vehicle slows to
the desired speed, then release the button.
If a temporary increase in vehicle speed is de-
sired, depress the accelerator pedal. When pres-
sure on the accelerator pedal is released, the
cruise control system will resume control at the
previously set cruising speed.
When the system has been disengaged by brake
application, it may be reengaged when desired as
described above.
