ince no grease fitting
is
provided
in the
con-
trol lever it
is
necessary to brush
or
spray engine
oil
on the
lever pivot
point and
on all
exposed
control
linkage every
6,000
miles.
CHASSIS
BRAKE SYSTEM
The braking
system
requires very little
care;
however, the system should be checked occa-
sionally for indications of fluid leak and a
periodic
check made for brake linings
and
parts
wear.

POWER BRAKES
Tr ucks
equipped with
power brakes utilize

vacuum
to reduce
the
braking
effort
to
much less
than
is
required
with
regular
brakes.
A built-
in
vacuum
re-
serve
will
sup-
ply
two or more
power assisted
brake applica-
tions after the engine has
stopped.
After
the vac-
uum
reserve
has been exhausted,
the
vehicle can
still be
stopped
by applying
greater
force to
the
foot pedal.
MASTER CYLINDER
Check
master cylinder fluid
level in both
reservoirs every 6,000 miles. If
the fluid is low
in the reservoir

it
should
be
filled to a point
about

from
the
top
rear
of each
reser

voir with G.M.
