Recommended Viscosity
The following chart will
serve as a guide
in
selecting the
proper oil
viscosity.
The proper
vis-
cosity
helps assure good
cold
and hot starting by
reducing
friction
and thus increasing cranking
speed.
SAE SW and 5W-20 o;ls are no' recommended for SlJs,oin

AIR CLEANER
CAUTION:
In
addition to
its
function of filtering
air drawn
into the engine through
the carbu-
retor,
the air cleaner also acts as a
Aame
arrester in
the
event
the engine backfires
.
Be-
cause backfiring may cause
fire in
the
engine
compartment, the air cleaner
should be in-
stalled at all times unles
s
temporary removal
is
necessary during repair or maintenance of
the vehicle.
NOTE: Under prolonged dusty driving conditions,
if
is recommended tho' these operations be per-
formed more often.
For maximum protection
specify an
AC Acron
air
filter
element.
Oil Bath Type: The
oil
level in the
oil
bath

cleaner reservoir

be checked every
12,000
miles and
sufficient
S.A.E.
50 oil added
when

freezing
or

freezing.
Adding oil
and servicing
the cleaner will vary greatly

Oil Wetted Paper Element Type: The
oil
wetted
paper
element
is
a
long-life
efficient air
cleaner
and
should
not require replacement
before
24,000 miles
except
under
extremely
dusty conditions.
Inspect air cleaner at 12,000 miles for dust
