GOOD DRIVING PRACTICE: A good driver
always scans the area to the rear BEFORE enter-
ing the vehicle and backing up, and makes a
habit of using his rearview mirrors while driving,
so as to be aware of the rearward aspect of his
total driving environment.
POWER STEERING
Power steering assist is provided by a hydraulic
pump driven by the engine. When the engine is
not running or if the power steering pump drive
belt breaks, the vehicle can still be steered, but
much greater steering effort will be required.
DUAL ACTION SAFETY HOOD LATCHES
Conventional Models
The hood is held closed by a lock mechanism
located at the front, center edge of the hood. The
lock can be released by reaching into the upper
grille opening and lifting the release lever. The
lever should be held up until the lock mechanism
clears the safety catch also. The hood can then be
raised to its full open position. When closed the

hood is secured by the hood lock with an adjust-
able hood lock bolt, also adjustable rubber hood
bumpers.
