Check
cylinder
compression end check

the spark
plugs are
installed correctly.
Remove
the
fuel
tank
(page
2-3).
Remove
the
ignition
control
module
(ICM)
and
disconnect
rhe
4
P
connector from
the
ICM.
Connect
the
peak
voltage
adapter
or Imrie
tester
probes
to
the
cormoctor
torminola of tho
ignition
puleo generator
side.
TOOLS.
Imrie diagnostic
tester
(model
625) or
Peek
voltage adapter

digital
multimeter

CONNECTION:
Blue/
Yellow terminal

Body ground

Crank
the
engine
with
the
starter
motor and
read
the
peak
voltage.
PEAK VOLTAGE:
0.7
V
minimum
MUVARWUG
A
void touching
the
spark plugs
and
tester
probes
to
prevent
elec-
tric
shock.
If
the
peak
voltage
measured
at
the
ICM
connector
is
abnor-
mal, disconnect the
ignition
pulse generator
2P
(White! con-
nector
and
connect
the
tester
probes
to the terminal (Blue/
Yellow
and
Green/White).
In
the
same manner
as
at
the
ICM
connector,
measure
the
peak voltage
and
compare
it
to the voltage
measured
at
the
ICM
connector.
If
the
poak
voltage
measured
at
the
ICM
is
abnormal and
the
one measured
at
the
ignition
pulse generator
is
normal,
the wire harness
has
an
open
circuit
or loose connection.
If
both peak voltages
measure
are
abnormal, check each
item
in
the troubleshooting
chart.
If
all
items
are
normal,
the
ignition
pulse
generator
is
faulty.

for
