Configuring and Viewing PIM-DM for IPv4 Multicast Routing

Beginning in Privileged EXEC mode, use the following commands to
configure PIM-DM for IPv4 multicast routing on the switch and on VLAN
routing interfaces and to view PIM-DM information.

ip pim dense
ip igmp
ip multicast
vlan-id
interface vlan
ip pim
ip igmp
ip pim hello-interval

show ip pim
Purpose
View a summary of the host interface status
parameters.
View a detailed list of the host interface status
parameters. This command displays information
only when MLD Proxy is operational.
View a table of information about multicast
groups that MLD Proxy reported. This command
displays information only when MLD Proxy is
operational.
Purpose
Enter global configuration mode.
Enable ip routing. Routing is required for PIM to
calculate where to prune the multicast trees.
Enable PIM-DM on the switch.
Enable IGMP. IGMP is required for PIM to operate
properly.
Enable IPv4/IPv6 multicast routing.
Enter Interface Configuration mode for the specified
VLAN.
Enable PIM-DM on the interface.
Enable IGMP on the interface. IGMP is required for
proper operation of PIMDM
seconds
Specify the number of seconds (range: 0–65535) to
wait between sending PIM hello messages on the
interface.
Exit to Privileged EXEC mode.
View system-wide PIM information.
