3. Specifying and Adjusting the Machine's Operational Settings
SMTP Auth.
Specify SMTP authentication (PLAIN, LOGIN).
When sending e-mail via an SMTP server, you can enhance the level of SMTP server security
using authentication that requires a user name and password to be entered.
If the SMTP server requires authentication, set [SMTP Auth.] to [On], and then specify [Name]
and [Pwd.=.].

Enter [Name] using up to 64 characters.

Enter [Pwd.=.] using up to 32 characters.
Off
POP before SMTP
Specify POP authentication (POP before SMTP).
When sending e-mail via an SMTP server, you can enhance the level of SMTP server security
by connecting to the POP server for authentication.
If you select [POP before SMTP], specify [POP3 Server Name] under [POP3 Settings].
The default setting is "Off".
