Increase baking time with 10-minute periods 5 minutes before the end of the baking process. A signal
with 2 second intervals for 1 minute. If the baking time is less than desired then the baking time can
be lengthened for 10 minute periods by pressing CRUST once. The display shows the finishing time
including the lengthened time.
At the last 5 minutes of the lengthened time, the bread maker will allow a second possibility of
increasing the baking time again. You may continue the baking time for a further 10 minutes or allow
the bread maker to continue working into the next phase.
SETTING DESCRIPTION
Basic Bread
These settings are used for bread that mainly consists of white flour, even though some recipes
contain small amounts of whole flour also. These settings have the least number of raising cycles
and the shortest combined time before baking is finished. The bread will therefore be heavier than
French bread or sweet bread.
Whole Grain Bread
These settings are used for recipes with larger portions of whole flour, rye, oats or bran. They start
with a delayed period of 30 minutes where the flour or the grains soak thoroughly in the liquid
ingredients. This thorough soaking process softens the grains and enables the ingredients to mix
well. These settings also have an extra raising cycle to enable heavy wheat/grains to expand. Whole
grain bread is usually smaller and heavier than basic bread, French bread or sweet bread.
French Bread
Traditionally, French bread has a more crispy crust with a lighter consistency than basic bread. The
recipes usually do not include butter, margarine or milk.
Quick Bread
Use these settings for speedy bread making. Note that the taste of the bread improves when baking
time is longer.
Sweet Bread
Use these settings for recipes using larger amounts of sugar or sweet ingredients such as
raisins, dried fruit or chocolate. The baking temperature is reduced to avoid burning and the
extra raising cycle gives the bread a light and airy consistency.
Cake
Use these settings for baking cakes. Remember that a large quantity of sugar may cause the shade of
the cake to darken after baking.
Baking
Bread is baked in 1 hour with this program.
• If there is a power failure during the raising process the bread maker loses its memory and
will not automatically go to baking. Instead of discarding the dough you can keep it in the
bread maker until it has raised to the desired size. When the power returns set the program to
BAKE to start the baking process.
• Use this setting to re-heat jam. The bread maker is to be supervised while on this setting. Do
not use this setting to warm up butter as the strong heat will spoil the taste of the butter, and
very hot butter can also drip into the bread maker when removing the bread container.
