Replacing the Internal Batteries (6000 VA Models)

NOTE DO NOT DISCONNECT the batteries while the UPS is in Battery mode.
With the hot‐swappable battery feature, UPS batteries can be replaced
easily without turning the UPS off or disconnecting the load.
If you prefer to remove input power to change the batteries:
1.
Press and hold the on/off button until the long beep ceases
(approximately 3 seconds), and then disconnect the UPS.
2.
Wait 60 seconds while the internal processor shuts down before
you disconnect the battery.
To replace the UPS internal batteries:

Read and understand all warnings and cautions listed in "Safety Warnings" on page 5.

Pull the batteries out onto a flat, stable surface. The batteries are unsupported when you
pull them out of the UPS.

The UPS batteries are heavy (see page 54). A minimum of two people are required to lift
the batteries into the UPS chassis.
1.
Remove the upper and lower UPS covers. Press the two side
latches toward each other to release the cover, and pull the cover
away. Repeat for the second cover.
