9.1 Cleaning

Electrostatic Charger

If the electrostatic charger is dirty, streaks will appear though the copies. If this
occurs, clean the charger according to the following procedure.

Open the machine's front door.

Slowly pull out the charger-
cleaning tool as far as possible.
Next, slowly push in the charger-
cleaning tool as much as
possible.
Repeat the above operations
three times.
Perform this same operation to
clean each of the other
electrostatic chargers.

Securely insert each charger-cleaning tool, and then close the front door.
