Acoustic mode
First the tens are announced, then the units followed by the decimal point and finally the tenths. There is
a short pause between each group of beeps. The tens are always announced, even when the test result is
below 10. The tens in this case are represented by 1 long beep tone, signifying zero. The decimal point is
announced by 1 very short beep tone ( ).
13.8 mmol/L:
2 short preceding beep tones – 1 beep tone – pause – 3 beep tones – pause – 1 very short beep
tone – pause – 8 beep tones =  
4.0 mmol/L:
2 short preceding beep tones – 1 long beep tone (for 0 tens) – pause – 4 beep tones – pause – 1 very
short beep tone – pause – 1 long beep tone =  
Announcing stored test results
Only the last (most recent) of the stored test results is announced acoustically.
The test result is announced three times in succession. The announcement follows the same pattern as
the announcement of a test result immediately after the test.
