Possible Cause
Failure in PKG connection

The Priority TX mode is set to
Mail.
Possible Cause
User aborted the send pro-
cess.
Connection to SMTP server
was attempted but failed.
Connection to a server was
established but this server
was not functioning as an
SMTP server.
An attempt was made to con-
vert to text format in order to
send the attachment file but
an error occurred.
Or, the creation of the TIFF
file E-mail attachment failed.
The To field has not been
properly filled out.
The E-mail could not be sent
because the sender E-mail
address was not entered.
The server rejected the E-mail
because the sender E-mail
address was not a valid E-mail
address.
12. Troubleshooting
Action to be Taken
Reattach MEM board or MEMS board.
Replace MEM board or MEMS board.
Contact your dealer.
Change [Admin. Management], [Admin. 1],
[TX Settings], [Quality/Mode], [Communi-
cation Mode]. If the Priority TX mode is
Mail, change the Priority screen to FAX.
Action to be Taken
1. Check that the SMTP server
address is correct.
2. Check that the network settings on
the computer are correct.
3. The SMTP server may be down.
Contact system administrator
responsible to verify the state of the
server.
Check that the SMTP server address
is correct.
This is probably caused by insufficient
memory.
Try again after closing all other appli-
cations.
Specify a receiver in the To field.
Enter the sender E-mail address.
(See Chapter 1 of the Operations
Manual.)
Check that the E-mail address of the
receiver is a valid E-mail address
(such as chris@xxxx.com).
