MAINTENANCE PROCEDURES

This section includes instructions for
basic maintenance procedures. If you
have the necessary mechanical skills
and the required tools, you can per-
form these procedures. If not, see
your authorized Can-Am dealer.
Other important items in the mainte-
nance schedule that are more difficult
and require special tools are best per-
formed by your authorized Can-Am
dealer.
WARNING
The following procedures should
be done by an adult only.
WARNING
Turn off the engine and follow
these maintenance procedures
when performing maintenance.
If you do not follow proper main-
tenance procedures you can be
injured by hot parts, moving parts,
electricity, chemicals or other haz-
ards.
WARNING
Should removal of a locking device
(e.g. lock tab, self-locking fastener,
etc.) be required, always replace it
with a new one.

Engine Oil

Engine Oil Level
NOTICE
Check level frequently
and refill if necessary. Do not over-
fill. Operating the engine with an
improper level may severely dam-
age engine. Wipe off any spillage.
NOTE: While checking the oil level, vi-
sually inspect engine area for leaks.

TYPICAL — RH SIDE OF ENGINE
1. Dipstick
With vehicle on a level surface, start
engine and let it running for several
minutes, then stop engine check the
oil level as follows:
1. Unscrew dipstick then remove it
and wipe clean.
2. Reinstall dipstick and screw it in
completely.
3. Remove and check oil level. It
should be near or equal to the up-
per mark.

To add oil, remove dipstick. Place a
funnel into the dipstick hole to avoid
spillage.
Add a small amount of oil and recheck
oil level.
Repeat until oil level reaches the dip-
stick's upper mark. Do not overfill.
