5 Transportation and Storage
5.1 Transport in a Motor Vehicle for the Disabled
WARNING
Risk of accident and injury due to improper use for
transportation in motor vehicles for the disabled. The
power wheelchair is permissible for transporting passen-
gers in motor vehicles when using safety components
(such as lap belt) as well as appropriate restraint systems
offered by Ottobock. The A200 may be used for trans-
porting only one person. We recommend that wherever
and whenever possible, A200 users transfer in the seats
installed in the motor vehicle and use the corresponding
vehicle restraint system, because this is the only way to
ensure optimal protection of the passengers in case of an
accident.

The power wheelchair may generally be used in motor ve-
hicles for the disabled without seat tilt.

CAUTION
Risk of injury as a result of not engaging the locks suf-
ficiently.
Secure the power wheelchair during transport in another
vehicle by sufficiently tightening the tensioning straps.
The frame of the power wheelchair has 4 eyebolts for the at-
tachment of tensioning straps. These are installed at the
factory (see Fig. 4).

Before transporting the power wheelchair, switch off the
control unit and engage the brake (see section 6.4).
