On-Line Programming (Direct Connection)
With the PC connected to the telephone system's serial port, you can make immediate
changes to the telephone system programming. While connected, the PC Program also allows
you to save your new data to a file on the PC hard disk, or upload a "template" database from
your PC to the system.

Remote Programming (Modem Connection)
Using a modem connected to your PC and the remote system, you can customize a customer's
system without leaving your office. Remote Programming requires customer-provided
modems and an available trunk circuit at the remote site.

Off-Line Programming
With Off-Line Programming, the PC Program allows you to set up a database on your PC off
line, connect to the telephone system, and upload the entire custom configuration.

Database Save and Restore
Use the PC Program to save a site's data to your PC hard disk. You can easily restore the saved
data later on, if required.
The DS1000/2000 has the following requirements:
G
Windows NT, Windows 2000, Windows XP, and above.
G
P133 with 32 MB RAM minimum.
G
256 color 800 x 600 display (1240 x 1024 is optimal).
Do not use large fonts.

40 MBytes of available hard disk space.

The DS2000 Adaptor Box has two 8-conductor (RJ61X) modular jack
inputs and 8 2-conductor modular jack (RJ11) outputs. When used with
the RJ61X 8-Conductor Cable below (P/N 80891), it can connect up to 8
extensions, 8 trunks, or 4 of each. You can also use the Adaptor Box for
the CPU audio and relay connections. The Adaptor Box is intended for
DS2000 testing and demo systems.
In DS2000, use the RJ61X 8-Conductor Cable to connect DSTU PCBs, ASTU PCBs, ATRU PCBs,
or the CPU audio and relay connections to Adaptor Box P/N 80890. Each Adaptor Box requires 2
RJ61X 8-Conductor Cables.
In DS1000, you can use the RJ61X 8-Conductor Cable to connect:

A modem to the system's RS-232-C serial port. This application also requires DB25 Male to
Mod-8 Adaptor P/N 85981. Note that you can also use a standard Mod-8 Patch Cord in lieu of
8-Conductor Cable P/N 80891.
