Page Relay Support

Paging can activate system relays. In DS1000, Paging can activate the relay contacts in the DOOR1
and DOOR2 jacks. In DS2000, Paging can activate a single relay located on the CPRU.

Trunk Ringing Over External Page

Trunk ringing can optionally broadcast over External Paging speakers. For each trunk, the Paging
speakers can broadcast ringing for all calls ringing the trunk, for calls ringing only at night, or for
delay ring calls. While a trunk rings External Paging, any extension user can dial a code ( ICM + *0 )
to pick up the call. If Door Box chimes, ringing, and Background Music are all programmed to out-
put over External Paging, the system uses the following broadcast priority:
Paging
G
G Door Box chimes (DS1000 only)
G Ringing
G Background Music
Note that External Paging can broadcast either extension ringing or trunk ringing, not both. In
addition, External Paging requires additional customer-provided equipment.

Intercom Ring Over External Page

An extension's ringing can optionally broadcast over External Paging. If enabled, any type of call
that rings the extension will broadcast over the Paging speakers. While an Intercom call rings
External Paging, any extension user can dial a code ( ICM + *0 ) to pick up the call.

Door Chime Over External Page

In DS1000, Door Box chimes can optionally broadcast over External Paging. While Door Box chimes
broadcast over External Paging, any extension user can dial a code ( ICM + *0 ) to answer the Door
Box. After answering, a keyset user can press a soft key or FLASH to control the Door Box relay.

Background Music Over External Page

Background Music (BGM) can optionally play over the External Paging speakers while Paging is
idle. BGM will automatically turn off while Paging, ringing or Door Box chimes (DS1000 only)
broadcast from the external zone, and restart when the external zone again becomes idle.
Feature Quick Steps
To make an Internal Paging announcement:
1. Lift handset + Press ICM .
2. Dial *1 and page zone number (1-7 or 0 for All Call) + Make announcement and hang up.
OR
1. Lift handset + Press Paging key + Make announcement and hang up.
To answer the call that is ringing over the Paging speakers:
1. Lift handset + Dial *0 .
While talking to a Door Box caller (DS1000 only), you can press the FLASH key or
the OPEN and RLS soft keys to control the Door Box relays.
