3. Printer-specific Adjustments
<Note> • Before performing calibration using paper other than plain paper, such as thick paper and special
paper, select media type to be used from the "Media" menu.
• Prepare an output profile associated with a media type (calibration set) to reflect the calibration
results to printing. The default output profiles incorporated in each printer controller are as given
in the table below.
The GA-1120 and GA-1130 has only one default output profile which is associated with "Plain
Paper" and does not have the output profiles associated with "Thin Paper", "Thick1/2/3 Paper"
and "OHP film (Transparency)". To reflect the calibration results of paper other than plain paper
to printing, prepare an output profile associated with each media type using the ColorWise Pro
Tools and make setting to "Appear in Driver as" (choose any one from Output-1 to Output-10).
For example, when a media type for "Output-2" is set to "Thick1 Paper", the calibration results of
"Thick1 Paper" is reflected to "Output-2". Using the Output-2's output profile generates the
optimal printing to" Thick1 Paper".
No new output profiles are required for the GA-1121 and GA-1131 because they have a default
output profile associated with each media type respectively. However, regardless of a media type
used, the output profile and the calibration set, used for printing with a PostScript printer driver
on plain paper, are used when printing is performed with a PCL printer driver.
* An output profile can be created using the ColorWise Pro Tools. For the method of creating the
output profile, refer to "3.2 To Obtain Your Favorite Color Balance" or the Color Guide of each
printer controller.
