2.5 To Eliminate Background Color
Before the adjustment
The background color of the original is also
copied. Thus no clear contrast is made
between the background and text.
Explanation
When the original with a background color is copied, such as colored paper, the background color is also copied.
Thus, no clear contrast is made between the background and text on the copy. To copy the original with a high-
density background while eliminating the background color or making it white, make the background
adjustment.
Procedures
* Perform the adjustment in accordance with the procedures below.
* Procedures (1) and (2) are used by the service technician, and by the user.
* Procedure (3) is used by the service technician only.
(1) Select the "BASIC" menu from the Control Panel and set the original mode to "TEXT".
After the setting, make a copy and check the image quality.
If further image quality adjustments are still necessary, use the next procedure.
(2) Select the "BACKGROUND ADJUSTMENT" from the "COLOR" menu on the Control Panel and press the
[−] button to decrease the density of the background.
After the setting, print and check the image quality.
If further image quality adjustments are still necessary after the density of the background is set to the
lowest level, the service technician should use the next procedure.
