7.6.1
Battery
The gas generafed from battery is flammable.
Keep open flames away from battery. Open
flames may cause battery to explode.
• Battery fluid contains sulfuric acid which
may cause burns. Avoid fluid to contact with
skin or clothes. If fluid is spilt, immediately
remove affected clothes and rinse the skin.
• Before checking or removing battery, always
stop engine and turn main switch to [OFF]
position.
Inspecting and Filling
1. Park machine on a horizontal surface.
2. Remove front cover and visually inspect the battery fluid
level. If level is below the [Lower limit], add fluid.
Remove battery caps and add fluid. Replace caps.
Proper battery fluid level : Between [Upper limit]
Battery fluid : Distilled water
Charging
• Always remove battery from machine before
charging. Charging battery on machine may
cause damages to electrical parts or wiring
harness.
• Connect cables to correct terminals on bat-
tery. Connecting to wrong terminals will
immediately blow fuse and damage battery
and electrical system.
• When disconnecting, disconnect ground ter-
minal first. When installing, connect ground
terminal last. Do not reverse this order, or
short-circuit and electric shock can occur,
resulting in fire, property or personal dam-
age, injury or death.
• When reinstalling battery, make sure to con-
nect cables to correct terminals, and route
and secure cables with tightening bolt so
that they will not cause a short circuit with
the other parts on machine.
