• Temporarily tighten the brake caliper housing bolts.
CAUTION
!
After installing the brake caliper to the front
fork, tighten the brake caliper housing bolts
to the specified torque. Refer to "Front Brake
Caliper Removal and Installation (Page 4B-
3)".
Special tool
(A): 09930–11920 (Torx bit (JT 40H))
(B): 09930–11940 (Bit holder)
Tightening torque
Front brake caliper housing bolt (a): 22 N·m (2.2
kgf-m, 16.0 lb-ft)

• Install the brake pads. Refer to "Front Brake Pad
Replacement (Page 4B-2)".

Front Brake Caliper Parts Inspection

Refer to "Front Brake Caliper Disassembly and
Assembly (Page 4B-4)".
Brake Caliper Cylinder
Inspect the brake caliper cylinder wall for nicks,
scratches or other damage. If any damage is found,
replace the caliper with a new one.
Brake Caliper Piston
Inspect the brake caliper piston surface for any
scratches or other damage. If any damage is found,
replace the piston with a new one.
Brake Pad Mounting Pin
Inspect the brake Pad mounting pin for wear and other
damage. If any damage is found, replace the mounting
pin with a new one.

Brake Pad Spring
Inspect the brake pad springs for damage and excessive
bend. If any defects are found, replace them with new
ones.
