Preparations

Installing the drivers

To access the data you have scanned, you will need to install a TWAIN driver on your computer. Refer to the
Printer/Scanner Driver Guide for instructions on how to install the scanner driver. The Printer/Scanner Driver
Guide is on the included driver CD.

Connecting the cables

Connecting directly to a computer with a USB cable
Connecting through a network

Cable tie
Loop a USB cable and attach the ferrite core
Ferrite core
supplied with the machine as illustration below.
The USB cable loop should be about 5 cm
from the end.
Printer driver software
10 BASE-T/100 BASE-T hub
Ferrite core
Attach the ferrite core and cable tie to the
LAN cable as illustration below.
(The ferrite core and the cable tie are
supplied with the NIC option kit.)
