Summary of Advanced Functions

For details, refer to the User's Guide on the included driver CD.
Sending faxes to a group of destinations (Group Transmission)
When you often transmit to the same multiple destinations, you can specify them in one operation by registering them as a
group.
Security function
• Securing received documents (Security Reception)
When you receive documents after a specified time, this function stores them in the machine's memory without printing.
To print documents secured in the memory, you will have to enter a password.
• Checking the destination machine number before transmission (ID Check Transmission)
The ID check transmission function compares the lower four digits of the fax number you dialed with those registered in
the destination machine. Transmission is allowed only when the numbers match. This reduces the trouble of sending faxes
to the wrong destination due to line errors, etc.
• Limiting the destinations for fax communications (Closed Communication)
With the closed communication function, you can limit the destinations for fax communications to Muratec machines only
(excluding some models). Furthermore, by setting a passcode, you can narrow down the machines to those that have secu-
rity functions and also the same passcode registered. For the closed communication function, you can set transmission and
reception options separately.
• Checking the entered destination before transmission (Location)
Turning this function on means that when you start transmission a confirmation screen appears first to allow you to
confirm the destination. This prevents faxes from being transmitted to the wrong destination, for example, if you press the
wrong number.
• Checking the entered number before transmission (Dial Double-Push)
This function displays a re-entry screen after you enter a recipient's fax number using the numeric keys. By re-entering
the fax number, you can ensure the entry, preventing a fax from being sent to the wrong destination. Note that this func-
tion does not work if you use the speed dial for entry.
Forwarding received documents (Fax Forward)
This function allows you to forward faxes received during the time or period you set.
You can also have faxes forwarded only from specific fax numbers.
Blocking junk faxes (Block Junk Fax)
You can choose to receive faxes only from the numbers registered in speed dial, or you can specify fax numbers from which
faxes are block.
Transmitting a document at the request of the receiver (Polling)
Polling communication is where a request is sent from the receiving fax to another fax to send the document loaded in it. The
charges for this are paid for by the receiver.
By setting up a passcode, you can also ensure that polling only occurs with other Muratec faxes that have the same passcode.
Recalling the numbers of registered destinations (Speed Dial)
You can recall destinations by specifying registered speed dial numbers.
