The machine cannot always detect the size of the original if it is a non-standard size or a
solid object, such as a book. In such a case, specify the size at which you want to scan the
original. (See 'Specifying the Scanning Size of the Original (Document Size),' on p. 3-19.)
The original is scanned.
If prior jobs are being processed, your document will be sent once they are complete.
Remove the original when the scanning is complete.
If the optional control card is being used, remove the control card. (See the Reference
Guide.)

The size of the original is detected automatically. However, if the output paper in the machine
at the receiving end is not equal to the scanned size, the original image may be reduced in
size to match it.
