3 – Using ACS to correct a localized problem
If a Wireless AP displays poor performance it may be a sign that its operating channel has become
impaired, either by having too much 802.11 activity or by other sources of interference. For example,
poor throughput, a high number of lost packets or retries etc. However, it could also be a sign that the
Wireless AP is malfunctioning. In such a case, before replacing the Wireless AP it is recommended to
run ACS on that Wireless AP to see if the situation improves. To do so, navigate to the corresponding
radio page, select Auto from the Request New Channel drop-down list, and then click Save. This
triggers ACS on that particular Wireless AP and particular radio.
