and reformat the hard disk drive before
reinstalling the operating system.

leaving applications and data files intact, see
"Restoring the Operating System."
4. Click Custom on the Restore Mode screen if you wish to customize the OS
restore (see the following figure).

After you click Custom
verified. If the table is functional, a Partitioning the Hard Drive screen appears
with options allowing you to retain the present partition structure or partition the
hard disk using FAT16 or FAT32.
