Ethernet Configuration Commands

description

The description Interface Configuration (Ethernet, port-channel) mode command adds a
description to an interface. To remove the description, use the no form of this command.
Syntax
description string
no description
Parameters
string — Comment or a description of the port to enable the user to remember what is

attached to the port. (Range: 1-64 characters)
Default Setting
The interface does not have a description.

There are no user guidelines for this command.
Example
The following command adds a description to Ethernet port e45.
Console(config)# interface ethernet e45
Console(config-if)# description "RD SW#3"
