How can I test the Voice Gateway to verify that it's properly routing 911 calls?
Use a FXO line emulator to emulate the Central Office's functionality in order to verify
that 911 calls are properly routed. If 911calls are not routed over the FXO line, contact
your Service Node provider to gather logs and then contact your local PSTN to ensure
service is available.
If you do not have a FXO emulator, do the following:
1. Contact your local 911 agency and tell them that you want to test a 911 call.
2. When allowed by your local 911 agency, dial 911, remain on the line and speak to
the operator.
3. Say the following to the operator; "This is a test call only, there is no emergency".
4. Verify with the operator that the correct physical address is reported by the system.
How can I restart the Voice Gateway?
You can reboot it or power-cycle it. To reboot, do the following:
1. Open the Customer Support Interface.
2. Click the Devices tab.
3. In the list of devices, find the voice gateway that you want to restart.
4. Click Restart CP. The voice gateway will immediately restart.
How do I determine the status / version of software running on the Voice Gateway?
To find out the version of software running on the Voice Gateway, open the Customer
Support interface and click the Device tab. The software version number is displayed in the
IP column.

IMPORTANT: Do not call a 911 number
without the approval of your local 911
agency. They may be experiencing a
high volume of emergency traffic and
not able to receive a test call.
