Adding DNS Names for Host Servers
The Services Router uses Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) for automatically
assigning IP addresses to devices on your network. However, if there are network devices
that require static IP configuration or if you wish to assign certain permanent devices to be
used as servers (e.g. a Web server) you need to assign a host name and static IP address for
them. Here's how:
1. Click the Define Static IPs in the Action Index window or click Static IPs on the Data tab.
2. Click Edit.
3. Click Add Another Static IP.
4. Assign a host name and an IP address for each data device. You can assign the same IP
address to multiple devices; however, the hostname must be unique.
IMPORTANT: Static IP addresses must
start with 192.168.101.<nnn>. The last
quad must be in the range 2 to 254. Do
not use the same IP address on different
computers.
5. When you have finished making your changes, click Commit.
Deleting a Static IP Address
Click on the Define Static IPs in the Action Index window or click Static IPs on the Data tab.
1. Click Edit.
2. In the list of IP addresses, find the hostname and IP address you want to delete and
click Delete.
3. Click Commit
