The card should be removed and inserted into a SmartMedia™ compatible card reader connected to the
computer to access the BNX3's recorder data.
WARNING: If any recorded material or Setup utilities are modified when using the exter-
nal memory card, the CARD>>PC procedure must be performed before removing the card
from the BNX3 and inserting it into an external card reader. If this procedure is not per-
formed, recorded data may be lost.

Transferring Audio Tracks from the Computer

When returning the card back to the BNX3 from the computer, the BNX3 reads the card before record-
ed data can be accessed. The BNX3's main display shows the card
play counts back from 100 indicating the reading progress. When the card reading is complete, the card
can be accessed for playback and recording.

Memory Card/Computer File Format

Once the card has been properly prepared (Preparing Card for Computer) using the card preparation
routine in the BNX3's recorder setup menu, you can now use a computer's memory card reader to access
these files. These files can be copied between the memory card and your computer using standard drag and
drop routines you are familiar with. When plugging a card into a card reader, you can open it up on your
computer screen and see each of the song file folders. The audio track files are found inside each of the song
folders.
The BNX3's uses a specific song and track file naming convention that needs to be maintained when
exchanging files with a computer. When a card is inserted into a card reader, the songs appear as folders
named SONG01, SONG02, etc... The number of songs can change depending on how many songs or loops
are saved on the memory card. Inside each of the song folders are the separate audio tracks which will be
named TRAK01.wav,TRAK02.wav, up to TRAK08.wav. It is important that each song's name starts with
SONGXX (67 = song number) with no spaces, and each audio track is named TRAK01-TRAK08 with a .wav
extension in order for the BNX3 to recognize these files. You can rename tracks and songs while viewing
them in the computer with some restrictions. Here are some naming formats that are acceptable.
The following names are acceptable for song folders:
Song01_rock
song01 rock
SONG01 rock
Song01rock
